The Bulk Move Members CSV option, found on the Clubs > Actions dropdown, is used to attach an import spreadsheet with the goal of moving members to a different club. This feature is most typically used when members have been assigned to an incorrect club, and you want to do a bulk fix. Or perhaps you have members assigned to a discontinued legacy club, and you want to move them to a new club while preserving their payment methods and preferences. This article describes the process of bulk moving your members from one club to another.

Format Your Spreadsheet

To get started, go to the Clubs page, select the Actions dropdown, and choose Export All Members to download a CSV. Use the Export All Members CSV file as a worksheet for your import spreadsheet. You can use the info on your sheet to sort and filter your results, and take the data from the club_member_id column to create your import sheet. Use the club column to see the member's current club assignment to decide if it needs to be updated.

IMPORTANT: Before you make changes, save a backup of the original export so you can refer to their original choice if needed. Once you update the membership, there is NO undo.

Next, create a new two-column spreadsheet or modify the Export All Members CSV.

Column header A = member_id

member_id is the club member ID, which you can view in the Export All Members file and by viewing the "club_member_id" column.

IMPORTANT: The club_member_id is the unique ID assigned to a member when they join a club. This is the information you want to use when making bulk updates. This is NOT the same as a customer_id, which is the unique ID assigned to a customer contact and does NOT work for club updates.

Column header B = new_club_id

club_id is the number to the left of the club on the Clubs page.

Copy down the new club IDs to bulk change members to the new club. Make sure to save your spreadsheet for import.

Import Your Bulk Move Members Spreadsheet

When you are ready to import and move your members to a new club:

  1. Go to the Clubs page

  2. Select the Actions dropdown

  3. Choose Bulk Move Members

  4. Select Choose File

  5. Attach your file

  6. Select the Upload button

NOTE: Try importing one or two updates before doing a mass update to all your member preferences.
