Adding Tags via an Import

To import customer tags, create a spreadsheet with two columns only:

Column A header = id

Column B header = tag

Note: Please make sure that all letters in the column headers are lowercase. If you use any upper case letters the import will not work.

Column A should contain the customers id, column B should contain the tag you want to use.

Note: Do not use punctuation in the tag other than a dash as adding commas, periods, or forward slashes it will cause the tag not to function properly.

Once you have the file completed, save it as an MS-DOS Comma Separated .csv. You can import this under Customers > Actions > Imports > Tags.

It never hurts to test it with one customer id in the spreadsheet to see the upload populates properly. If the tags are uploaded as expected, then you can import the remaining tags.

Update Tags via Bulk Action Menu

If you'd prefer, you can also update tags directly in Offset. After filtering for your desired customers, select all followed by the Bulk Edit option at the bottom of the screen.

In the Bulk Edit menu, you can Remove Tags from customers in bulk, or you can Add Tags to customers in bulk.

To Add Tags:

  1. Type the name of the Tag you would like to “create”. If you start typing a Tag that has similar words as one that has already been created, you will be provided with a drop down of choices. Therefore, if you plan to create similar Tags related to refunds or shipping, keep the naming/words similar so the drop down menu will offer you existing choices.

  2. Select the tag from the list, or finish typing the new tag

  3. Press Enter on your keyboard to apply the tag

  4. Select Bulk Update Customers

To Remove Tags:

  1. Type the name of the Tag you would like to Remove.

  2. Select the tag from the List

  3. Select Bulk Update Customers
