Fulfillment Methods & Rates is where you create and manage all shipping options available to customers at checkout. This includes configuring shipping method names and types, connecting methods to your fulfillment partner, setting rates by bottle size and zone, enabling ice packs, and setting up pickup options. Use this guide when setting up shipping for the first time or when adding or updating shipping methods and rates.
NOTE: Some settings in Fulfillment Methods & Rates overlap with Ship-To States & Taxes. It can be helpful to open both pages in separate browser tabs while configuring shipping.
Create a Shipping Method
To get started, create a shipping method. Each method will have its own rate table that you can configure independently.
Go to Settings.
Click Fulfillment Methods & Rates.
Click New Rate Table or Duplicate an Existing Method.
If you duplicate a method, the rate table will also duplicate.
Enter a Shipping Method Name.
Click Create Rate Table.
Configure Shipping Method Details
Once a method is created, configure its details to control how it appears to customers and how it behaves during checkout.
Click the ellipsis (…) next to the shipping method.
Select Edit Fulfillment Method.
The following fields are available to configure:
Fulfillment Method Title: The shipping option name customers see at checkout. For example: FedEx Ground, UPS 2-Day Air, GLS Overnight, etc.
Internal Description: Used for internal records only. You can use the same name as the method title or add more detail for your team.
Visibility: Controls who can select the method.
Standard – Customers can select it at checkout.
Admin-Only – Available only for admin orders.
Type: Determines how shipping options are grouped during checkout.
Shipping – For orders shipped directly to the customer.
Pick-Up – For methods where the customer picks up at the winery or tasting room.
Third-Party – For third-party transfer methods.
Club – For club-specific methods.
Qualifies for Free Shipping (Optional): Connects this method to promotional free shipping features. During a club batch, the system will automatically apply free shipping using this method.
Shipping Description (Optional): Additional information displayed to customers at checkout. For example:
"Orders typically ship within 2–3 business days."
"If you have a storage account at Vinfolio, your order will be transferred there. Shipping charges will be billed directly by Vinfolio."
Fulfillment Settings
The Fulfillment Settings connect your Offset shipping method to your fulfillment partner and their service level codes.
Fulfillment: Select the company responsible for shipping the order. Options may include:
Fulfillment partners such as Vinfillment and Wineshipping
Direct carriers (FedEx, UPS, etc.) for in-house shipping
Custom if you use a provider not listed
Method Code / Custom Code: Connects your Offset shipping method to the service level used by your fulfillment provider. For example:
Shipping Method | Fulfillment Code |
UPS Ground | UPS Ground (UPS) |
FedEx 2-Day Air | FedEx 2Day (FEX) |
FedEx Overnight | FedEx Priority Overnight (FXP) |
NOTE: If your fulfillment partner integrates through ShipCompliant you may see a predefined dropdown. If you chose Custom under the Fulfillment section, you will need to manually enter the code. Confirm service codes with your fulfillment provider to ensure they match their internal systems.
Ice Pack Options (Optional)
Some fulfillment partners support adding ice packs to shipments.
Check Include Ice Pack with Shipment to enable ice packs for this method
If enabled, consider creating duplicate methods to give customers a choice — for example:
Ground / Ground with Ice Pack
2-Day Air / 2-Day Air with Ice Pack
Enter the amount to charge customers for the ice pack in the Ice Pack Charge field
You can set a minimum order subtotal or bottle quantity that qualifies customers for free shipping.
On the Fulfillment Methods & Rates page, locate Shipping Included Order Threshold.
Enter the minimum subtotal required to qualify for free shipping.
Example: Enter $200 to offer free shipping on orders over $200.
You can also define a bottle quantity threshold instead of a dollar amount.
Click Update to save.
NOTE: If using this feature, ensure the appropriate shipping method has Qualifies for Free Shipping enabled.

Leave unused sizes unchecked.
Click Update.
IMPORTANT: Complete this step before populating rate tables. If bottle sizes are not configured first, the correct rate grids will not appear.

Click the ellipsis (…) next to a shipping method.
Select Edit Rates.
Option 1: Manually Enter Rates

Set Max Charge to $0.
To charge a flat rate instead of offering free shipping, enter the flat rate amount in the Max Charge field.
Click Save Changes.
NOTE: The Flat Rate option only applies to 750mL bottles.

Save the file in MS-DOS Comma Separated CSV format.
